Hello lovelies,
I hope you’ve had a fantastic week! I recently collaborated with Chempkemboi Mang’ira a.k.a Miss Vavavum- the gem behind the #OwnYourCulture movement. This was an exciting venture for me because one of the major motivations for me, and for the blog, is to reshape the societal ideals of ‘African Beauty’. By owning and showcasing my natural hair, as well as providing a platform for natural hair knowledge and information sharing, it is my hope that the modern day African woman will find encouragement and inspiration to embrace her true, authentic natural beauty.
One way to get in touch with your roots is to fuse traditional jewellery and garment pieces into your modern day look, something that Chepkemboi does flawlessly (check out her IG here) and is passionate about, hence the birth of the #OwnYourCulture movement. To find out more about OYC, please check out their website (www.ownyourcultureafrica.com) and be sure to read my interview (click here) where I shared on everything from traditional jewellery to hair, skin and beauty! Until next time beloved ones…
