Hello lovelies,
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Michelle Ntalami (CEO and Founder of Marini Naturals) late last year at the Naturals In Nairobi’s Curl Talk with Felicia Leatherwood natural hair event (click here to read all about the event, and click here to read about my session with Felicia). She is such a darling to say the least, so when she called me to collaborate with her and her team on an exciting new project, I immediately jumped at the opportunity.
If you’re an avid reader of my blog, and follow me on my various social media outlets then you already know how passionate I am about natural hair, and providing the modern day African Queen with all the skills, tips and information she needs for her and her gorgeous hair to thrive. Thus, being a part of the Marini Naturals hair education campaign was right up my alley.
The campaign is centered around teaching naturals of different hair how to style and care for their hair, and of course showcases what the range of Marini Naturals products has to offer.
Using various products from the Marini Naturals hair care line, I’ll show you step by step how to achieve a beautiful braid out; one of my favorite hairstyles (that is, when I’m taking a break from protective styles. Protective styling is BAE!). CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE TUTORIAL
I started the look off on pre-washed, detangled, deep conditioned and stretched hair which made the process a whole lot easier. As outlined in the video tutorial, I hydrated my hair with a spritz and leave-in conditioner, then proceeded to seal it all in with a curling butter all from the Marini product line.
My first initial impressions were the products smelled absolutely delicious, you literally have to remind yourself that you are smelling a hair product not a dessert! The one product that I’d recommend the entire range is their ‘Curl Me Pretty Curling Butter’. My 4c hair enjoys thicker creams and butters to seal in and maintain optimum moisture levels. I’ll definitely be sure to give you guys a more in-depth review of their products to let you know what products worked for my hair, and what did not in an upcoming post.
Follow Marini Naturals on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with their ongoing campaign, and make sure to check out my braid out tutorial on the Marini Youtube page. Enjoy!
Happy Nappy Hair,
Yvette Kemi
